چکیده

The antagonistic potential of culture filtrates of a soil isolate of T. viride was evaluated invitro, against three common post-harvest rot pathogens; A. niger, A. flavus, and F. oxysporum. Assay of three extracellular enzymes; chitinase, protease and cellulase, in respective enzyme-induced culture filtrates revealed the presence of enzyme activity. When 10% (v/v) concentration of the various lytic enzyme-induced culture filtrates were screened for antagonistic activity against three post-harvest rot fungi on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium, it was observed that, while the synergistic combination of all three enzyme-induced culture filtrates (chitinase, protease and cellulase) of T. viride gave the highest radial growth inhibitions, 77.69% and 67.89% of A. niger and A. flavus respectively, chitinase induced culture filtrates of T. viride gave the highest radial growth inhibition, 46.95% of F. oxysporum. The T. viride strain used in the study showed potent antagonistic activity and could be considered a potential biocontrol agent against A. niger, A. flavus, and F. oxysporum.

IN VITRO ANTAGONISTIC EFFECTS OF TRICHODERMA SPP. ON SEVERAL SOILBORNE PLANT PATHOGENIC FUNGI

In vitro studies with Trichoderma spp., soil-borne fungal antagonists, demonstrated that a number of isolates produced volatile and non-volatile metabolites capable of inhibiting the growth and sporulation of several soil-borne plant pathogenic fungi. Microscopic observations showed that T. harzianm and T. viride, isolated from soil samples from Ahwaz and Karaj, adversely affected the myce...

Genetic enhancement of Trichoderma viride to overproduce different hydrolytic enzymes and their biocontrol potentiality against root rot and white mold diseases in bean plants

A major part of Trichoderma antifungal system consists of a number of genes encoding for an astonishing variety of secreted lytic enzymes including; e.g. chitinase, cellulases and β-1,3glucanases. The present work aimed to apply the mutagenesis technique in genetically breeding program of the bioagent Trichoderma viride to enhance three effective hydrolytic enzymes in their biocontrol abilities...

Biodegradation of the Herbicide 2,4-D by Some Fungi

Fungi commonly known for diseases generating and fermentation agents, apart from this some fungi show biodegradation agents. Pesticides are used for controlling plant diseases but when spraying the pesticides only 40% goes at target and the rest in soil environment. So the soil be contaminated and as a result of this useful microflora are affected and soil fertility decline. So, some fungi test...

Effect of Trichoderma species on damping off diseases incidence, some plant enzymes activity and nutritional status of bean plants

S: Fusarium solani and Rhizoctonia solani are the common causal pathogens causes the damping off disease of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in Egypt. The antagonistic effect of four Trichoderma species, i.e. Trichoderma album, Triechoderma hamatum, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma viride, was tested against F. solani and R. solani in vitro, in greenhouse and in field. In vitro tests, all Tri...
